Methods to your own website

Just out of the blue here, how many are interested in having there own website or blog? Now, you can get a blog easy by going to Wordpress.com or Blogger.com. You can also use Freewebs or Geocities to get a quick simple website going. But for most people who are serious about getting their own site, here are some quick methods for you to start up a site easily.

The DIY Method:

1. Build a server yourself, Linux recommended, install webserver and other components.
2. Register a domain at GoDaddy.com cheap.
3. Setup DNS and point it to the WAN IP of your server.
4. Start uploading some content and you have a website.

The HSEHI (Have Someone Else Host It) Method:

1. Register a domain at GoDaddy.com and order a hosting plan.
2. Follow GoDaddy’s instructions.
3. Upload some content and your done!

 

Okay, so that’s two methods right there, you can either build your own server and host your own site, but that requires more experience than ordering a hosting plan. If you have any other ideas, please comment about them, I’d love to hear them.
