A Look at the Alternative Energy Contenders

Let’s face it, we can’t live off petroleum forever. Eventually we will have to find an alternative energy to fuel the human race’s advancement. I’m no expert, but I just feel like giving my opinions on some of the alternative energy contenders.
- Perpetual Motion would probably be the most awesome-est thing since the light bulb. Just think, a car would get it’s power by creating it via turbine, turned by the car’s wheels. It’s brilliant! Of course, the timeless question would be how to get the car’s wheels going to begin with.
- Water, or Hydrogen power, is also a very worthy option. Water in, water out. And by the way, if you still don’t know the scientific term for this, it is called Electrolysis of water, or splitting a water molecule into hydrogen and oxygen atoms, then harnessing the hydrogen atoms to create energy.
- Wind energy is already making a name for itself, but unless we setup some windmills in a location with large gusts for a good part of the day, I don’t think it will ever be big.
Now, I gave some short opinions on three alternative energy choices. But while the scientists and everyone else are thinking about what to use as energy, I am only thinking of how our economy will adapt to it.
Just think, companies leasing airspace to build windmills, selling “premium” water for our hydrogen cars or, maybe you would enjoy a battery to power those perpetual movement turbines. When we do start switching to these new energies and seeing how much cleaner our Earth will become thanks to these alternatives, big businesses will only see dollar signs that are inches away from their grasp.
So, when our happy future comes thanks to the new energies, enjoy while it lasts, you may just start seeing $2.50 a gallon for tap water.
